DKSM presents Joyful Sounds

The Douglas Kuhl School of Music presented Joyful Sounds, Nov. 25 in Winkler. The concert shared the talents of Homeschool Harmony, Winkler Senior Choir, Encore and Post Road String Ensembles.
Winkler Senior Choir and Homeschool Harmony Choir also accepted a grant from Gordon Billows of Sing Canada Harmony to towards program costs this year.
Rochelle Drudge said they had over 150 performers, and featured the largest Homeschool Harmony Choir in a decade with 94 students participating from several Southern Manitoba communities.
The Winkler Senior Choir is also now a program of DKSM. “We enjoyed the collaboration of choir and orchestra,” she said.
The Encore String orchestra toured several local schools in GVSD and Western school division on Nov. 19. “It was a very enjoyable day sharing music with children in the community, many of whom had never seen a string orchestra perform,” she said.
