Access golf tourney raises big bucks for STARS

Representatives from STARS Air Ambulance beamed as they received a donation from Access Credit Union’s 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 13, 2018.
$42,690 was raised from participants and sponsors at the 6th annual Access Credit Union Charity Golf Tournament on September 13, 2018 at Minnewasta Golf and Country Club in Morden with Access contributing an additional $25,000 for a total donation of $67,690. A total of $250,000 was committed by Access Credit Union to support STARS Air Ambulance starting in 2017.
“STARS continues to be a great community partner.” said Larry Davey, President and CEO of Access Credit Union. “Their passion to serve regions throughout Manitoba aligns with our mandate to invest in causes that benefit our members and their communities. Health and safety will always be a priority.”
Registrations for the 2019 tournament will begin in the spring of next year.
STARS is a charitable, non-profit helicopter air ambulance that provides time, hope and life-saving support to critically ill and injured patients. Doctors, nurses, paramedics and pilots work with a team of dedicated support staff and community partners to save lives through rapid and specialized emergency medical care and transportation. STARS operates out of six bases across western Canada, where it has carried out more than 39,000 missions since 1985.
Access Credit Union has 18 branches, 260 employees and over $2.6 billion in assets under administration.
